ScooterRoute is navigatie voor bromfietsen in Nederland. Deze pagina legt uit welke gegevens de app verstuurt, waarom, en wat er met ze gebeurt.

Kort samengevat: er zijn geen accounts, geen advertenties, geen trackers en geen advertentienetwerken. Niets wordt verkocht of gedeeld met derden voor reclame. Alles wat de app verstuurt gaat naar onze eigen servers, behalve foutmeldingen van de app zelf.

Wat de app verstuurt terwijl je hem gebruikt

Als je een route berekent sturen we je vertrekpunt, je bestemming en de richting waarin je rijdt naar onze routeserver. Die heeft dat nodig om een route te kunnen berekenen. De route wordt niet aan je gekoppeld en niet bewaard.

Als je zoekt sturen we wat je typt naar onze zoekserver, samen met je globale positie. Die positie zorgt ervoor dat "Stationsplein" de goede plaats oplevert en niet de eerste van het land.

Terwijl de kaart in beeld is vraagt de app kaarttegels op van onze kaartserver. Daaruit is af te leiden welk gebied je bekijkt, niet waar je zelf bent.

Onze webserver legt van deze drie diensten vast: het tijdstip, welk verzoek binnenkwam en het IP-adres waar het vandaan kwam. Dat is nodig om misbruik en overbelasting te kunnen zien. Deze logs worden na 30 dagen automatisch verwijderd.

Grondslag: deze verwerkingen zijn nodig om de dienst te leveren die je vraagt, en om hem beschikbaar en veilig te houden.

Als je een fout meldt

Alleen als je zelf op de meldknop drukt. Zo'n melding bevat:

Je positie op dat moment, met richting, snelheid en de nauwkeurigheid van je GPS
Of je aan het navigeren was, en zo ja: de instructie die op dat moment in beeld stond, het begin- en eindpunt van je route en de route zelf
De versie van de app en het platform
Een willekeurig gegenereerd installatienummer, dat bij de installatie hoort en niet bij jou of je telefoon
De tekst die je er zelf eventueel bij typt

We gebruiken dit om de kaart te corrigeren. Meldingen worden bewaard op onze eigen server in Duitsland en na 90 dagen automatisch verwijderd. Een melding is binnen een paar dagen afgehandeld; wat er daarna nog ligt heeft voor ons geen nut meer.

Grondslag: je stuurt de melding zelf, bewust en met één handeling.

Foutrapporten van de app

Als de app crasht of tegen een fout aanloopt, sturen we een technisch rapport naar Sentry, in hun Europese omgeving. Zo'n rapport bevat waar in de code het misging en welke versie je gebruikt. Er zit geen locatie in en we koppelen er geen gebruikersgegevens aan. In ontwikkelversies staat dit helemaal uit.

Grondslag: gerechtvaardigd belang bij een app die blijft werken.

Wat op je telefoon blijft

Deze gegevens verlaten je toestel niet:

Je zoekgeschiedenis (de laatste 20 zoekopdrachten)
Je taalkeuze
Of je het welkomstscherm hebt gezien
Wanneer je de app voor het eerst gebruikte en hoeveel ritten je hebt afgerond
Het installatienummer
Meldingen die nog niet verstuurd konden worden

Verwijder je de app, dan is dit alles weg.

Wie we inschakelen

Hetzner — onze servers, in Duitsland.
Sentry — foutrapporten, Europese omgeving.
Zoho — e-mail, Europese omgeving.

Verder niemand. Geen advertentienetwerken, geen analytics, geen datahandelaren.

Je rechten

Je mag inzage vragen in je gegevens, ze laten corrigeren of laten verwijderen, bezwaar maken tegen de verwerking, of vragen om overdracht. Mail support@scooterroute.app.

Eén praktisch punt: omdat we geen accounts hebben, kunnen we een melding alleen terugvinden aan de hand van het installatienummer of de plek en het tijdstip. Zonder dat kunnen we niet vaststellen welke gegevens van jou zijn, en dat is precies de reden dat we zo weinig vastleggen.

Je kunt ook een klacht indienen bij de Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Kinderen

De app is niet gericht op kinderen en we verzamelen niet bewust gegevens van hen.

Wijzigingen

Verandert er iets aan wat de app verstuurt, dan verandert deze pagina mee. De datum bovenaan zegt wanneer dat voor het laatst gebeurde.

ScooterRoute is navigation for mopeds in the Netherlands. This page explains what the app sends, why, and what happens to it afterwards.

The short version: no accounts, no adverts, no trackers, no advertising networks. Nothing is sold or shared with third parties for marketing. Everything the app sends goes to our own servers, except crash reports from the app itself.

What the app sends while you use it

When you calculate a route, we send your starting point, your destination and the direction you are travelling to our routing server, which needs them to work out a route. The route is not tied to you and is not stored.

When you search, we send what you type to our search server, along with your approximate position, so that "Stationsplein" finds the one in your own town rather than the first in the country.

While the map is on screen, the app requests map tiles from our tile server. That reveals which area you are looking at, not where you are.

For these three services our web server records the time, the request, and the IP address it came from, so that abuse and overload are visible. These logs are deleted automatically after 30 days.

Basis: these are necessary to provide the service you asked for, and to keep it available and secure.

When you report a problem

Only when you press the report button yourself. A report contains:

Your position at that moment, with heading, speed and GPS accuracy
Whether you were navigating, and if so the instruction on screen at the time, the start and end of your route, and the route itself
The app version and platform
A randomly generated install id, which belongs to the installation rather than to you or your phone
Any note you choose to add

We use this to correct the map. Reports are stored on our own server in Germany and deleted automatically after 90 days. A report is dealt with within days; what is left after that is of no use to us.

Basis: you send the report yourself, deliberately.

Crash reports

If the app crashes or hits an error, we send a technical report to Sentry, in their European environment. It records where in the code things went wrong and which version you are running. It contains no location and we attach no user information to it. In development builds this is switched off entirely.

Basis: legitimate interest in an app that keeps working.

What stays on your phone

This never leaves your device:

Your search history, the last 20 searches
Your language choice
Whether you have seen the welcome screen
When you first used the app and how many trips you have completed
The install id
Reports that could not be sent yet

Uninstalling the app removes all of it.

Who we rely on

Hetzner — our servers, in Germany.
Sentry — crash reports, European environment.
Zoho — email, European environment.

Nobody else. No ad networks, no analytics, no data brokers.

Your rights

You may ask what data we hold, have it corrected or deleted, object to processing, or ask for it to be transferred. Email support@scooterroute.app.

One practical note: because there are no accounts, we can only find a report by its install id, or by its place and time. Without one of those we cannot establish which data is yours, which is the same reason we hold so little of it.

You can also complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Children

The app is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If what the app sends changes, this page changes with it. The date at the top says when that last happened.
